Edward ‘Bucky’ K. Buchanan

He was born on Oct. 5, 1943, in Louisville, K.Y., to the late Edward P. and Elizabeth N. (Glacken) Buchanan. On Oct. 28, 1967, he married Marjorie A. (Dunlap) Buchanan, who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Christine A. Yoder and husband, Wesley H., of Stuartsdraft, Va. and Brian K. ‘Zeke’ Buchanan and wife, Natalie A., of Ferguson Valley; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Richard Buchanan and wife, Pat, of Shreveport, L.A. and Dave Buchanan and wife, Candy, of Bethany Beach, Del.

Bucky graduated in 1961 from Bellefonte High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a tool and dye maker for 38 years at New Holland, retiring in 2001.

He was a lifetime member of F&AM Post #376, McVeytown, an honorary member at the Belleville Fire Company, working on and fixing the rides for the festivals and also helped making chicken corn soup. He also enjoyed assisting with Meals on Wheels and attending the races.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date.
