Wanda L. Edmiston

Wanda L. Edmiston, 80, of McClure passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Embassy of Hearthside, State College.

She was born April 22, 1945 in Bannerville, a daughter of the late Elmer and Margie Romig and Eugene C. and Margie E. (Rager) Wright. On May 19, 1962 she married Jerry D. “Red Eye” Edmiston Sr. who preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2024.

Wanda earned her GED and went on to graduate with an associate’s degree in business from Central Penn Business School in Harrisburg.

She was a member of Mount Bethel Church in McClure.

Wanda worked as an insurance agent, a realtor, Kinney Shoes, Thor Industries, and Apex Homes until her retirement.

She was a member of the McClure Women’s Club and the McClure American Legion Auxiliary. Wanda was an accomplished golfer and was the runner up champion in 1996 at the Shade Mountain Golf Club. In 1998 she had a hole in one on No. 12. She enjoyed family dinners, riding motorcycle in her younger days and baking. There were always baked goods when visiting Wanda’s house. She also enjoyed bowling and playing games with friends and family.

Wanda will always be remembered for being a generous person, lending a hand to the sick, tutoring her college colleagues when she went back to school and taking meals to family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Jerry (Vicki) Edmiston Jr.; two grandchildren, Josh (Jenn) Edmiston and Nikita (Scott Jr.) Bishop; five great-grandchildren, Burke, Reed, Harlow, Dawson, and Drew; three brothers, Terry, Allan (Brenda), and Todd Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Goss.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Walters officiating.

Burial will follow in Samuel’s Church Cemetery, McClure.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Wanda’s memory may be made to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 942, P.O. Box 8, McClure, PA 17841.
