Roy D. Kanagy

Roy D. Kanagy, 82, of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at Brookline Village, Mifflintown.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1942, in Belleville to the late Dave E. and Ida (Glick) Kanagy. On Nov. 16, 1963, he married Rita M. Kanagy, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2019.

Surviving are children, Tamela Peachey and husband Nathan of Belleville, Curtiss Kanagy and wife Robin of Mifflintown, Robert Kanagy and wife Audrey of Lancaster, and David Kanagy and wife Carrie of Belleville; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Kanagy and DaVida Kanagy and a stillborn brother.

He retired from Ford-New Holland in 1997 with 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church.

He enjoyed writing poetry, fishing, hunting, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 115 Maple Grove Road, Belleville, on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Brookline Village as well as AseraCare Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Roy.
