Paul L. Benfer
Paul Lindberg Benfer, 97, originally from Beaver Springs entered eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025 at his home.
Born May 9, 1928, in Spring Township, Snyder County, he was the only son of the late H. Randall and Estella (Ewing) Benfer. On Dec. 26, 1992 he married Millie H. Hollenbach who survives. They were married for 32 years.
Millie is the daughter of Harold Hilton Hollenbach and Jean Betty (Tyron) Hollenbach, of Hollenbachs Construction Company in Womelsdorf, since 1890.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Juanita Thornton in 1991; a step-daughter, Brenda (Penn) Kline in 2005; and his sisters and their spouses, Dorothy (Charles) Coleman, Evelyn (Sam) Norman, and Gloria (Richard) Long.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fort Bragg.
He was born and lived his entire life in the family residence and place of business known as Benfer’s Furniture Store in Beaver Springs, established by his father in 1927. Benfer’s served the surrounding communities for well over 90 years.
A graveside service will be held in Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs on Friday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Denny Mallonee of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 85 Snyder Ave., Beaver Springs, PA 17812.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
