Born March 17, 1943, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Leon Thomas Crisswell and Vivan E. (Stoner) Crisswell Johns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouses, Norman E. Beers Jr. and Harry E. Marker; daughter, Melinda Lynch; and sister, Eleanor Holesapple.

Leona is survived by her children, Tammy Casalegno and husband, Jeff, of California, Holly Dean, of Burnham, and Buffy Spade, of Lewistown; step-daughters, Stephanie Turri and husband, Jason, of Harrisburg and Melissa Marker, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Donald Lynch Jr., Jared Lynch and wife, Stephanie, Shania Spade, and Jordan Spade; step-grandchildren, Amelia, Samantha, and Josh Marker and Alyssa Benevento; great-grandchildren, Parker, Cain, Karma, Kale, Koa, Liam, Callie and Kade; and a brother, James Crisswell and wife, Christine, of Lewistown.

She was a 1961 graduate of Chief Logan High School.

She was the heart of our family – a strong, hardworking, kind, and genuine soul who gave selflessly and loved unconditionally. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving school buses. Cooking for her family and having them all together for the holidays made her the happiest and she made everyone who met her feel like they were family and always welcome in her home.

More than anything, she cherished her family. They were the most important thing to her and her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in her daughters, the memories that we hold dear and the love that surrounds us still.

She was truly one of a kind. We will miss her deeply, love her always, and remember her forever.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Leona to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m., with Pastor Steven Small officiating.
