Brenda Sharon Funk

Brenda Sharon Funk, 79, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at her home.

Born June 14, 1946, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Alverta (Clapper) Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Miller, Jr. and son-in-law, Roy Smith.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Lester Funk; children, Steven Funk of York, Holly Seby and husband, Stephen, of Lewistown; grandson, Evan Seby and wife, Rachel; siblings, Carole Lesko and husband, Andy, of Hollidaysburg, Rita Stone of Williamsburg, Cindy Himes and husband, Glenn, of Altoona;, sisters-in-law, Linda Newcombe of Martinsburg and Laura Mae Miller of Williamsburg.

She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School class of 1964.

Brenda was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She retired after a lengthy and dedicated career at Lewistown Hospital, where she served as the director of volunteer services.

Throughout her life, Brenda dedicated herself to serving the community in numerous ways. She held positions on the Mifflin County Library Board, contributed her time to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, and was actively involved with the Lewistown Women’s Club and the Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary. Brenda also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and passionately supported adult literacy, acting both as an advocate and tutor.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
