Wilson Roy Swisher

Wilson Roy Swisher, 92, of Lewistown Heights, went to be with Jesus on Sept. 19, 2025 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lewistown.
He was the son of the late Clifford Roy Swisher and Bertha Irene (Dixon) Swisher, he was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Osceola Mills. On Aug. 26, 1953, he married his lifelong sweetheart, Barbara Jane (Wooding) Swisher. They were married for 59 years at the time of her death on Oct. 2, 2012.
Wilson is survived by his daughters, Tina K. Fultz and husband, David L., of Lewistown and Marcia A. Musser and husband, Nolan W., of Lewistown; granddaughter, Mandy M. Taccino and husband, Kevin M., of Carlisle; a great-granddaughter, Delaney V. Taccino, of Carlisle; brother, Gerald B. Swisher and wife, Brenda; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Lewistown High School and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked in the ring mill and the machine shop at Standard Steel until he retired in 1995 after 42 years of employment. He was a member of Assembly of God Church.
He was a man of sterling qualities; calm and quiet, hardworking, trustworthy and reliable. He could build or fix just about anything. He loved the outdoors as well as fishing and hunting and was a Penn State football fan.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St. Lewistown, with funeral services following at 2 p.m., with Pastor Barb Mannino officiating.
Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Green Avenue, Lewistown.
