Moses A. Peachey
Moses A. Peachey, 81, of 76 Diesel Drive, Belleville, passed away at 11:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1943 in Belleville. He was the son of the late David J. and Lizzie H. (Peachey) Peachey. His wife, Mary G. (Swarey) (Byler) Peachey, whom he married on May 19, 2011, survives.
Along with his wife, he was survived by children, Lizze M. Wengerd and husband, Adam of Thompsontown, Steven M. Peachey and wife, Effie of Thompsontown, Lydia M. Zook and husband, Levi of Mifflintown, Samuel M. Peachey and wife, Fannie of McAlisterville, Nancy M. Swarey and husband, Henry of Fredonia, Katie M. Peachey of Thompsontown, and Emma M. Swarey and husband, Henry of Rio, W.Va; step-children, David M. Byler and wife, Katie of Belleville, Anna M. Zook and husband, Nathan of Hopkinsville, Ky., Sylvanus E. Byler and wife, Kathryn of Belleville, Sadie B. Zook and husband, Jonas, Jr., of Mill Creek, Daniel E. Byler and wife, Anna of Belleville, Rudy B. Byler of Allensville, Norman I Byler and wife, Martha of Belleville, and Sarah M. Peachey and husband, Leroy of Belleville; 39 grandchildren, 53 step-grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Malinda E. (Wengerd) Peachey; a son, Christy M. Peachey; four grandchildren; and a step-grandson.
Moses was a retired farmer and was a member of the Old Order Amish.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at 76 Diesel Drive, Belleville. The funeral service will be held at the same address on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at 9 a.m. Burial will take place at Van Wert Amish Cemetery, Juniata County.
