Martha A. King

Martha A. King, 76, of Belleville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at her home.

She was born on April 16, 1949, in Belleville, to the late Eli B. King, Sr. and Sarah S. (Yoder) King.

She is survived by many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as siblings: Amelia B. Yoder, of McVeytown, Jesse King and wife, Erma, of Hartville, O.H., John King and wife, AnnaFern, of Kalona, I.A., Jacob King and wife, Joyce, of Arlington, KS, Sara King, of Belleville, Eli B. King Jr. and wife, Mary Jane, of Belleville, sister-in-law, Martha M. King, of Belleville and a brother-in-law, Norman Kauffman, of Mayfield, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Lena King, David King, Alvin King, Mary Kauffman and two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae King and Bertha King and a brother-in-law, Ray Yoder.

Martha taught school for four years. She worked at Faith Mission Home Bakery for six years, she then went to work at Peachey’s Meats, where she worked on and off for a number of years. Most recently, she was working at Peight’s Store in Mount Union. She had also helped her brother Jake and his family after the passing of his first wife, Bertha. She and her sister cared for Mim Peachey at their home for 12 years and most recently her sister-in-law, Martha (David) King.

She enjoyed making baby caps for missions. She also loved giving stickers to the children at church. Martha had a deep interest and involvement with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, as well as the neighbor children, Zachary and Stella.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025 at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, 110 Applehouse Road, Belleville. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, also at the church with ministers Matthew Peachey and Loren Yoder officiating. Burial will be held at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Belleville.
