Deidre A. Hockenberry
Deidre A. “Dee” Hockenberry, 57, of Middleburg passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1968, in Hanover, the daughter of her adopted parents the late Carmon and Shirley (Coleman) Aumiller and her birth mother Patricia Pearson and her stepfather Steve Arnold.
Dee was a 1986 graduate of West Snyder High School and went on to attend South Hills Business School.
She was a long-time member of Beaver Lutheran Church, Beavertown.
Dee had worked as an insurance agent for the family business, Coleman Insurance Agency in Beavertown.
She enjoyed cooking, especially with the church, benefit dinners, and had Queen’s Catering. Dee enjoyed freezing corn for special family dinners and soups. She loved cruises and being by the water. Dee loved flowers, a good party, and music. She rarely missed any of her daughter’s band concerts. She also enjoyed making soup for C.J.’s Resolution Challenge for autism acceptance at R.B. Winter State Park. Even though she did not like the cold, she loved serving the runner’s her soup to help warm them up.
In addition to her birth mother and stepfather, Dee is survived by her boyfriend, Roy Straub; one daughter, Alexandra Mae Hockenberry; three brothers, Dirck (Silgian) Aumiller, Dane (Tina) Aumiller, and George (Lauren) Pearson; one special sister, Lori Feehrer; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bently.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy “Hock” Hockenberry.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Beaver Lutheran Church, 18207 Route 522, Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Larry Harrold officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Dee’s memory may be made to the Danville SPCA, 1467 Bloom Rd., Danville, PA 17821.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
