Steven L. Palm
Steven L. Palm, 72, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after complications from kidney failure.
Born March 27, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Robert and Pauline (Baker) Palm.
Steve is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn (Walker) Palm; his daughters, Heather Miltenberger, her husband, Mike, and Natalie Payne and her husband, Anthony, all of Lewistown. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, who were the light of his life; Rowan, Tucker and Luella.
He was a proud graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Business Administration, where he carried his knowledge into running the family business. Known for his uncanny ability to fix just about anything, Steve was the proud owner of Robert S. Palm Contracting for over 50 years, carrying on the legacy of his father. He was a skilled locksmith, evident by his name on the doors of many area businesses. He was also passionate in helping others learn the trades. He worked daily with his friend, confidant and mentee, Gavin Taylor, passing along his knowledge for future generations. He also served as a respected instructor for the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. Earlier in his career, he worked for Zampelli Electronics and was also a disc jockey for WKVA.
His love for the community was evident in his dedication to local organizations. He was involved with the Kiwanis Club of Lewistown, Chief Logan Lions Club, where he received the coveted Melvin Jones Fellow Award and was a lifetime member of the Mifflin County Historical Society. Steve had a passion for antiques, with collections he curated over many years.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at King-Barr Funeral Home, LLC, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
