Phyllis I. Herbert

Phyllis I. Herbert, 93, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at Greenwood Village. She was born on March 4, 1932, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Luther and Mable (Wagner) Hassinger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul H. Youtzy; her second husband, Frank B. Herbert; her brother, Robert A. Hassinger; her daughter-in-law, Trudy Renninger; her son-in- law, Roy Henry Jr.; her stepmother, Mildred (Smith) Hassinger; and stepdaughter, Pamela Herbert.

She is survived by her children, Darlene K. Henry of Lewistown; Tom R. Youtzy and wife Nancy of Lewistown; Deborah K. Winters and husband Clayton of Strasburg; Terry R. Youtzy and wife Lisa of Longfellow; Alan S. Youtzy of Longfellow; Patty J. Shifflett and husband Donnie of Lewistown. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, special nephew Glenny Marks and wife Dee of Lewistown; stepdaughter Lucretia L. Hepburn; and a close friend, Sharon Yetter.

Phyllis was a member of United Methodist Church in Yeagertown and held lifetime membership with the Lewistown Loyal Order of Moose. During her early career, she worked as a seamstress at Arrow Shirt Factory and Scottie’s Fashions. Later, she was employed as a bartender at both the Belleville Restaurant and Henry’s Subs and Suds.

Her hobbies included playing bingo and crocheting blankets for her family, she was known as the life of the party.

A viewing will be conducted from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, located at 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Pastor Tim Henry. Interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery.
