Florence Ruth Hoar

She was born on July 12, 1929 in Milroy, to the late Oliver A. and Florence C. (Baker) Shank. She is preceded in death by her husband, Foster Ray Hoar, who passed away on March 29, 2003.

She is survived by her son, Frederick R. Hoar and wife, Lori of Lewistown; grandchildren, Sonny Ritchey and husband, J.D. of Lewistown and Kurtis Hoar and wife, Amanda Flores of Va.; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Stahl of Lewistown, and Kimber and Kamden Hoar of Va.; a brother, Kenneth E. Shank and wife, Kathy of Milroy and a sister, Donna Briner and husband, Richard of Ariz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Jane E. Glass, Glen A. Shank, Erma Nale, Marlin T. Shank, Alda B. Wilson, O. Alvin Shank and David R. Shank.

Florence was primarily a homemaker.

She enjoyed bird watching and baking.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Siglerville.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
