Beatrice Virginia ‘Bea’ (Gregory) Strawser

Beatrice Virginia “Bea” (Gregory) Strawser, 68, formerly of Newport and Thompsontown, entered into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born Oct. 30, 1956, in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Beatrice V. (Willow) Gregory, Sr.
She is survived by three children, Roger Strawser Jr. of Ohio, Christopher Strawser and wife, Jackie, of Columbia, and Priscilla Groce and husband, Randy Sr., of East Salem, seven grandchildren, Denise Strawser, Jaerrid Strawser, Braden Strawser, Alexandra Strawser, Ethan Strawser, Randy Groce Jr., and Camilla Groce, one great-granddaughter, Oaklee Groce, and three siblings, Joan Walborn, Reno Gregory, and Darlene Varner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John R. Gregory, Jr. and Ralph Gregory and one sister, Karen Gregory Thompson.
Beatrice was a Certified Nursing Assistant who worked in home care and at several nursing homes in the area.
She was a member of Newport Assembly of God Church.
She loved spending time with her family, especially being with her grandchildren, and she enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts.
There will be a viewing on Monday, Aug. 4 from 2:30 until the time of her funeral at 3:30 at Newport Assembly of God Church, 253 N. 6th Street, Newport, with Pastor Gary Bellis officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
