James Rex Warner

James Rex Warner, 77, of Belleville, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1947 in Lewistown, a son of the late Owen Warner and A. Louise (Zook) Warner Knaul. He is survived by his sister, Sheila Dillree & husband Terry, of Lewistown.

Rex was a 1965 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School and a 1969 graduate of Penn State University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked many years as a bartender at VFW Post 5935 Belleville, where he was also a member. In his earlier years, he also did book-keeping.

Rex enjoyed working in his garden and would often can the vegetables that he harvested. He was a member of the Penns Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited and was an avid fly fisherman. He spent many hours making his own fly ties and keeping them in metal boxes that he also made and sold.

Per his wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
