Carol Lee (Eicher) Herbertson

Carol Lee (Eicher) Herbertson, of Reedsville passed away on July, 11 2025, surrounded by her family, and is now in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Born July 26, 1945 in Unity Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Preston and Ruth Elizabeth (McMahon) Eicher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Eicher and sisters, Joyce Stauffer and Evelyn Eicher.

Carol is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 55 years, J. William Herbertson along with her children, Brian Herbertson and wife, Lauri, of Reedsville and Becky O’Donnell and husband, Brian, of Milroy. Carol was a loving, doting grandmother of Ian Herbertson and wife, Selena; Shane Herbertson and wife, Devin; Tobyn Herbertson and Jennalee Cebrosky and husband, Ryan and great-grandmother of Lily Eby and Christian Miller. Carol is also survived by her younger sisters, Joan (Joni) Eicher and Francis Jean (Jeanie) Eicher.

Carol was a Registered Nurse in her younger years, retiring from Lewistown Hospital where she worked in various departments throughout the hospital, with her favorite being Labor and Delivery.

Carol was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown for the past 45 years where she was a Sundy School teacher and a member of Koinonia.

Carol was well known for her skills in cross stitching, with her home being decorated with numerous beautiful pieces and crafting other works for family and friends. She was also known for her “famous chocolate chip cookies,” teaching a number of family members how to make them, but no one could match them exactly due to her little secret.

Visitation will be held at King Funeral Home 74 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville on Wednesday July 16, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverand Karen McCachren officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or another charitable organization in Carol’s name.
