Carl Leonard McCombie

Born March 5, 1935, in Emporium, he was the son of the late Leonard and Kathryn (Gontairo) McCombie.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Barnett) McCombie; children, Carla Jean Franckowiak and husband, Gene, of Mohnton and Byron B. McCombie and wife, Lee Ann, of Lewistown; and his faithful companion, his dog, Rosie.

Carl was a member of the Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Jaycee’s of Lewistown, president of the PA Association of Accountants, Lewistown Elks Lodge #663, Lewistown Country Club, and past president as well as past secretary and member of the Rotary in Lewistown.

Carl graduated from Emporium High School in 1953 and went on to obtain his B.S. in accounting from St. Bonaventure in 1960.

He was a United States Army Airborne veteran.

Carl worked for 36 years at Standard Steel in Burnham as an industrial accountant and retired in 2000. Earlier in life he worked at Sylvania.

Services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Burnham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to a Charity of one’s choice.
