Erlene D. Bubb

Erlene D. Bubb, 90, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, entering the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Born on Dec. 30, 1933, in the Lewistown Narrows, Erlene was the daughter of the late Percy S. Huffnagle, Sr., and Mae E. (Bender) Huffnagle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. “Horny” Bubb, and siblings., Patsy Lou Huffnagle Percy “Buck” Huffnagle, Jr., and George “Mike” Huffnagle.
Erlene is survived by her children: LuAnn Wood and partner, Herb Tritremmel, of Hamilton, N.J.; Scott R. Bubb and wife, Mary Ann, of Spring Mills; Steven S. Bubb and wife, Korie, of Reedsville; Wendy J. Reasoner and husband, Mark, of Brownsburg, Ind.; Penny J. Newman and husband, Barry, of Long Beach, Mass.; and Brenda L. Ishler and husband, Gary, of Reedsville. Her legacy extends to her beloved grandchildren: Jodi Bubb, Aaron Bubb (Kim), Lindsay Wood, Tyler Bubb (Ashley), Colin Wood (Jena), Nathan Bubb (Darbi), Lucas Bubb (Jami), Graeme Newman (Stephanie), Casey Drake (Aaron), Evan Corbin (Lyndsey), Marley Fox (Travis), Kaitlyn Reasoner, Seth Reasoner (Claire), Emma Reasoner (Benny), Clara Reasoner, and Noah Reasoner (Carolina), as well as great-grandchildren: Kadin, Jamison, Bryson, Derek, Mason, Chase, Caleb, Sullivan, Kellan, Oliver, and Quincy. She is also survived by her brother, Walter “Bun” Huffnagle, of Lewistown.
A devoted member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, Erlene was active in the church choir and carried her love of music throughout her life, often filling her home with song. She was a founding member of the RUM Cooks, that were locally famous for their raisin filled cookies and pies.
Erlene was a hardworking and creative woman. Over the years, she worked at various places including Arrow Shirt Factory, Juniata Valley Association for the Blind, American Viscose, Scotty’s Fashions, and the YeagerMill Inn. Most recently, she was an integral part of Seven Mountains Wine Cellars, helping her son Scott in the winery’s early days. Known for her talents in crafting, cake-making, woodworking, and painting, Erlene was a “jack of all trades.” She was fiercely independent and strong-willed, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Most of all, she was proud of her family.
Her family, friends, and community will remember her creativity, generosity, and the joy she brought into their lives through her music, crafts, and love.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 82 East Logan Street, Reedsville, with Pastors Kathy Dawes, Jean Ward, and John Walters officiating. There will be a viewing held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will take place in Church Hill Cemetery.
