Robert M. ‘Bob’ Walters
Robert M. “Bob” Walters, 71, of McAlisterville, went home to be with the Lord at 7:50 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born on Feb. 2, 1953, in Lewistown, he is a son of the late John H. Walters and Velma E. (Strawser) Walters Kerstetter. On Aug. 20, 1971, he married his surviving wife, Donna J. (Landis) Walters with whom he was blessed to share exactly 53 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Bobbi Jo Kemp and her companion, Dave Neiman, of Middletown and Michael W. Walters and his wife, Kristy, of Thompsontown; one granddaughter, Eden J. Walters; siblings, the Rev. Donald C. Walters and his wife, Nancy, Richard F. Walters and his wife, Carol, and William R. Walters and his wife, Carol; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna “Pat” Frymoyer and his step father, Mason M. Kerstetter.
Mr. Walters attended East Juniata High School in Cocolamus.
In earlier life, Bob had worked at various construction and carpentry companies throughout the years, with the last company he worked and retired from being C & D Rigging, Inc. He was also a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local #431.
His other memberships included the Millerstown Moose Lodge #925 where he was a member since 1995 and he also attended the Church of the Open Door in Evendale.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024 at the East Salem Community Church, 7398 Route 235, Mifflintown, with Pastor Jerry Knouse and the Rev. James A. Neimond, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
A viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family being present at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville and from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the East Salem Community Church.
