William J. ‘Bill’ Larson
William J. “Bill” Larson, 82, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill.
He was born Feb. 3, 1942 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Hess) Larson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Hudson, and brothers, Gerald, Larry, and Arthur Larson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Stimely) Larson, whom he married on Dec. 16, 1961, children, William J. “Butch” Larson III and wife, Marcia, and Patricia Crowder and husband, Randy, all of Lewistown, grandchildren, Ellery Russler and husband, Trent, of Lewistown, Katherine Pannebaker and husband, Kyle, of Belleville, Jacob Larson, of Anchorage, A.K. and Andrew Larson, of Lewistown and great-grandchildren, Gracie Kerstetter, Jase and Colt Atherton, Sophina and Luke Russler, and Everett and Leah Grace Pannebaker.
Earlier in life, he was employed at Avtex Fibers, and later retired from Standard Steel after many years of service.
He was a devoted and active member at Trinity United Methodist Church for many years, and most recently became a member of Ellen Chapel Church.
Bill had a remarkable talent for woodworking, and not only in the woodshop, but his baking and cooking always brought joy to every family gathering. He was a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family that meant so much to him. He was a true superhero in the eyes of his family, a man that had endless generosity and could fix anything.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Ellen Chapel Church, 11798 Ferguson Valley Rd., Lewistown, PA 17044, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating. There will be a visitation held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
