Joann G. Carper

Born Sept. 23, 1935, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late William and Phyllis (Fluke) Snook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. “Jim” Carper on March 3, 2021, and siblings, Barbara Haywood, Larry Snook, and Gary Snook.

Joann is survived by her children, Nancy Carper and husband, Thomas Russell, of San Antonio, T.X., Elaine Carper Ross, of Palmdale, Calif. and Gail Yoder and husband, Larry, of Reedsville, grandchildren, Jodi Good and husband, James, Jenny Shreffler and husband, Shawn, Aaron Tsutaoka and wife, Brigitte, and Travis Tsutaoka, five great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church.

Joann loved traveling, riding her motorcycle, and camping. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service in loving memory of Joann will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at King Funeral Home, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Pastor Steven Small officiating. There will be a visitation held at the funeral home from noon until time of service.

Private burial will take place in Juniata Memorial Park at a later date.
