William M. Dunmire

Born Jan. 18, 1935, in Ryde, he was a son of the late O. Wilson and Anna Mildred (Moist) Dunmire. On July 7, 1956, he married Janet K. (Wilson) Dunmire. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2011.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Ray, Jayson, and Cecil Dunmire.

Surviving are: three children, Brenda K. Fike of McVeytown, Daniel M. Dunmire and wife Suzanne of McVeytown, Sandra M. Schreffler and husband Wade of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Carl Dunmire and wife Barbara of McVeytown, Glenn Dunmire and wife Ruth of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Nicole Fike, Eric Fike, Gregory Dunmire, Cody Dunmire, Hannah Warren; six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Ava, Madelyn, Emma, Olivia, and Caden.

He retired in 2000 from PennDOT and was also a former Oliver Township Supervisor.

Bill was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, the Careful Builders Sunday School Class, and served as a deacon. He also attended the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Bill was a member of West Granville Fire Co., the McVeytown Lions Club, and McVeytown Lodge No. 376 F&AM.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. William Kuhn officiating. Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
