Theresa Dybach

Theresa Dybach, 74, passed peacefully at her residence at Celebration Villa of Reedsville, on Sept. 28.

Born June 19, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophia Stem Dybach. Theresa received her bachelor’s degree in English from Wilkes University, and she continued her education at Villanova University, where she received her master’s degree. She received her teaching degree from Penn State University.

Theresa enjoyed helping young people and she spent her entire career teaching high school English at Lewistown Area High School in the Mifflin County School District. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Lewistown, where she was very active in the church. Theresa taught the RCIA program for future Catholics Adults, and Catechism class for 8th grade students. She was a former school board member of Sacred Heart School where she also led the after-school program for many years.

In her spare time, Theresa loved doing all kinds of crafts, being outdoors was her favorite, working in her yard, tending to her flowers, gardening, and just enjoying nature.

Surviving is one brother, John Dybach, Lewistown, and numerous cousins and dear friends.

Graveside funeral services and interment were held at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, Plains, PA, with the Reverend Father Myron Myronyuk, Pastor, officiating.
