Roy R. Freed

He was born March 8, 1974, in Lewistown. He is the son of John Freed and the late Barbara (Harshbarger) Cruse.

He was a 1993 graduate of Lewistown Area High School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara and stepfather, Rodney Cruse; and a niece, Amber Freed.

He is survived by his father, John Freed, and stepmother, Patricia (Williams) Freed, of Mattawana; three children, Cheyanne Freed, of Mount Union, Carter Freed, of Huntingdon, and Justin Freed, of Calvin. He also leaves behind his siblings: Dawn Michael, James Freed, Shawn Freed (Julie Stydinger), Denise Freed (Danny Groce), John Freed (Jen Freed), Jonathon Freed (Amanda Barrier), Scott Stringer (Susan), and Stacey Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

He worked as a construction worker and roofer for most of his life.

He loved working with his hands, making projects out of wood and drawing art, as well as being outdoors.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a family service on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown.
