Robert James McCalips

Born May 21, 1958, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harry and Goldie (Casner) McCalips.

Robert is survived by his wife, Diane (Bedlyon) McCalips; daughter, Kimberly VanHorn and fiancÈ, Troy Rothrock, of Lewistown; son, Tyler McCalips, of Lewistown; granddaughters, Alexis and Karlina VanHorn; brother, Steve McCalips and wife, Michele, of McVeytown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Rothrock High School, Class of 1976.

He was employed in his early years at Avtex Fibers and Eddie’s Tires. He was an equipment operator for Glenn O. Hawbaker, Eastern Region, and lastly, was employed as a mechanic at Skytop Golf Course in State College prior to retiring.

Robert attended Wesley Chapel in Lockport. He enjoyed hunting, mowing and tending his yard, gardening, and old tractors. He loved all his pet dogs and birds.

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Vira Methodist Cemetery, Long Lane, Lewistown, with Pastor Bill Kuhn officiating.
