George L. Wilt
George L. Wilt, 65, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:26 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Nov. 30, 1957, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Lee G. “Sonny” and Mary E. (Lancaster) Wilt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Noel and Hiram Wilt.
George is survived by: his son, Derek Wilt Sr. and wife, Ashley, of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Derek Wilt Jr., Bristol Wilt, Dax Wilt, Katie Wilt, Chris Dippery and Trisha Dippery; great-granddaughter, Onyx McKinney; siblings, Timothy Wilt and wife, Dottie, of McClure, Clara Dobson and husband, Francis, of Milroy, Alfred Wilt, of McClure, Yasmin (Mary) Davis, of Lewistown, and Harriet Gombos, of McClure; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lily.
He was a graduate of Lewistown High School.
George retired from Overhead Door Corporation after 28 years of service.
He enjoyed working on old trucks with his grandson, Derek Jr., and spending time with his family.
Services are private, with interment to take place at the Wilt Family Cemetery in McClure.
