Carole Ann Slemons

Born May 31, 1944, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Roy T. and Elizabeth M. (Benner) Swineford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Darwin L., John E., Peggy E. and Mary L. (twins), and Sue Ellen Swineford.

Carole is survived by her children, Pamela S. Baer and husband, David, of Harrisburg, Peter A. “Andy” Slemons Jr. and wife, Deb, of Florida, and Gerald D. “Jerry” Slemons and wife, Natalie Woods, of Lewistown; siblings, Roy T. Swineford Jr. and wife, Charlene, James A. Swineford and wife, Gail, Vicki Curry and husband, Bud, Richard C. Swineford and wife, Cheryl, all of Lewistown; sister-in-law, Carol Slemons (widow of John), of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She attended Lewistown High School and later completed her GED.

In her earlier years, Carole worked at Rea & Derick Drug Store as a waitress while raising her children, Pam, Andy, and Jerry. She retired as a textile worker from Lewistown Specialty Yarns with 26 years of service.

After her retirement, Carole continued her love of driving to and exploring new places, completing word search puzzles, and eating strawberry Scooter Crunches. She enjoyed being around her family and will be remembered as “Grandma Mom” who always displayed her independent spirit and made everyone smile.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

Private interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Green Avenue, Lewistown.
