Beverly Barr (Rachau) Miller

Beverly Barr (Rachau) Miller, 96, of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Valley View Haven Retirement Community in Belleville.

Born Dec. 29, 1926, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Kathryn (Aurand) Rachau. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Leonard C. Miller; her daughter, Diane K. Miller; and her brother, Richard L. Rachau.

Beverly is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Miller and wife, Penelope, of Milroy; grandchildren, Aaron Miller and wife, Kathryn, of Harrisburg, Benjamin Miller and wife, Danielle, of Archbold, Ohio, and Elizabeth Bowersox, of Selinsgrove; and great-grandchildren, Micah, Naomi, Henry and Sophia Miller, and Nolan and Avery Smith.

She graduated from Lewistown High School with the class of 1944, where she remained active on the reunion committee, and with her fellow alumni throughout her life.

Beverly held various secretarial positions throughout her life at the Lewistown Pure Milk Co., Noerr Motor Freight, Danks and Company, Pennsylvania Glass and Sand Co., and lastly, at Skills of Central Pennsylvania until her retirement in 1990.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lewistown, a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, and held various clerical jobs within the church for many years. Beverly was always very active within the community as a member of many local organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling to Whipples Dam State Park and Greenwood Furnace State Park, and the many bus trips that she took with the South Burnham Community Group, and the 20th Century Club.

A funeral service in loving memory of Beverly will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
