Deborah J. Barnes

Born Dec. 30, 1947, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Smeltzer and Ima (Workinger) Bender. Also preceding her in death was her first spouse, Robert Kauffman and second spouse, Randy Barnes.

She is survived by her spouse, Ron Myers of Lewistown. Also surviving are her children, Christian Kauffman and spouse, Colleen Watts, of Philadelphia, and Misty Kauffman and spouse, Adam Rung, of Chambersburg, three grandchildren: June Kauffman, of Philadelphia, Calder and Sawyer Rung, of Chambersburg.

Deborah graduated from Kishacoquillas High School and received her Masters Degree from Shippensburg University. She taught kindergarten in Chambersburg for a number of years, worked as a receptionist at Kotary Dentistry in State College following her retirement from teaching, and worked for quite a while at A Little Off the Top, fitting men and women with wigs. She was an active member of the White Memorial Church in Milroy. She enjoyed shopping, going RV camping, and going out on the boat. She enjoyed traveling, getting her nails done and wearing wigs. She loved her cats.
