Rebecca J. ‘BJ’ Hearn

She was born Jan. 8, 1955, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Ralph A. and Beatrice I. (Clark) Laubach. On July 5, 1981, she married Douglas L. Hearn, who resides at their home.

She is survived by a son, Andrew Hearn of Reedsville, a brother, Robert Laubach of Selinsgrove, and two sisters, Janet Karpenko of McAlisterville and Judy Petit of McAlisterville and her husband Elsworth of Colorado, as well as many nieces and nephews.

BJ had her master’s degree in English and served as a teacher for a number of years before transitioning to a position in human resources. Her most recent employment was in the human resources department at Trinity Packaging in Lewistown.

She was a member of the Mifflintown Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a talented artist, was a writer and had several of her poems published in national publications.

Per her request, there will be no services.
