Peggy M. (Long) Hummel
Peggy M. (Long) Hummel, 85, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard E. Hummel Sr. The loving couple were married for 55 years.
Peggy is survived by her children, Vanessa Hummel, Paula J. Fultz, Richard E. Hummel Jr. and Sandy Fletcher; eight grandchildren, and siblings, Robert Long, Kay Martin and Nancy Nicholson. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Tracey and siblings, June, James, and George.
Born on June 15, 1937, in Lewistown, she is the daughter of the late James E. and Hannah Catherine (Stimely) Long.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her husband. They would frequently go to the local Legion and firehouses. Family was a big part of Peggy’s life. She spent as much time as she could with them. She also enjoyed crafting and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
She previously attended the Mifflin County Community Church.
Peggy will be buried at Birch Hill Cemetery at her family’s convenience. King-Barr Funeral Home LLC is in charge of arrangements.
