Paul A. Meyer

Paul A. Meyer, 74, of McVeytown, passed away at 5:50 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born January 22, 1947, in Drexel Hill, Delaware County, he was a son of the late John James and Helen C. (Scott) Meyer. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Jack Meyer.

Paul is survived by: wife, Ellen (Parcell) Meyer; five children, Michael Meyer and wife, Liz, of McVeytown, Matthew Meyer and wife, Beth, of Shiremanstown, Theresa Decker and husband, Chris, of Bellefonte, Andrew Meyer and wife, Mattea, of Reedsville, and Michelle Meyer and companion, Bryan Dearborn, of Lewistown; nine grandchildren, Kaela, Emily and Logan Meyer, Josh and Nick Meyer, Sophia and Carson Decker, and Gabby and Bella Meyer; and a sister, Maria O’Brien, of Norristown.

Paul graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School, Upper Darby School District, and received his Bachelor of Science degree and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.

He was a very active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown.

In addition to serving his church, Paul did volunteer work for the Junior Achievement Program, where he educated students on entrepreneurship, work readiness and the value of contributing to their community.

Paul began his engineering career in 1976 at K B Aerotech and subsequently retired from General Electric in 2012.

Paul enjoyed boating at Lake Raystown and going to the beach. He was in the process of restoring a 1957 Chris Craft Continental boat. Another of his favorite hobbies was motorcycles. Above all else, Paul loved his family and treasured moments spent with them.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 26, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 North Dorcas Street, Lewistown, with Father William Weary officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
