William ‘Bill’ Glenn Leister

Born March 1, 1960, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Glenn Mitchell and Judith (Pannebaker) Leister.

He is survived by two daughters, Kristina R. Dressler and husband, Chad, of Mifflintown and Karly M. Henry and husband, John, of Port Royal, six grandchildren, Brody Noerr, Emersyn Dressler, Nicolas Dressler, Ty Dressler, Dayden Henry, and Dawson Henry, with another grandchild on the way, his companion, Diana Kint, of Mifflintown, one sister, Patricia A. Leister, of Mifflintown, one brother, Douglas M. Leister, his wife, Jan, and their son, Nathan D. Leister, all of East Berlin, and his wife, Denise (Hendricks) Leister of Port Royal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew, Aaron M. Leister, and his chocolate lab, Coco.

Bill graduated from Juniata High School in 1978. His first job was helping his parents at Leister’s Superette in Mifflin. Throughout his life, he worked as a pipeliner in various states, for Mifflintown Borough Maintenance, and owned and operated Leister’s Handyman Service.

He was a member of the Mifflintown V.F.W., the American Legion, and Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

When his daughters were growing up, he enjoyed coaching softball and attending all their sports-related activities. Every Memorial Day, he placed the flags on the Veteran’s graves at Union Cemetery, Mifflintown. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

For over forty years, he shot pool on many Juniata County pool league teams. Most recently, he was captain of the Gridiron Pub Pool Team and was the best shot in town.

When he could, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved 24 year old cat, Winston. He loved his family and his grandchildren meant the world to him.

The family is planning to hold a service to celebrate Bill’s life and those arrangements will be published and announced on social media when they are completed.
