Donald Lloyd Lewis

Donald Lloyd Lewis, 81, of 9104 Canyon Magic Ave., Las Vegas, NV, 89129, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at Infinity Hospice, Las Vegas, following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

He was born Aug. 10 1938, in Los Angeles, a son of the late Howard Samuel and Bertha Cantor Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie D.(Sunderland) Lewis, of Las Vegas, a native of Wayne Township, Mifflin County, whom he married Nov. 22, 1986; two sons, Steven B. Lewis and wife, Robin, of Owego, New York, and Alan E. Lewis and wife, Patricia, of Charleston, SC; a daughter, Crystal A. Lewis, at home; six grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Kelli and Aaron Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Daniel; brother, Gary J. Lewis, of Duarte, Calif.; and mother-in-law, Patricia L. Sunderland, of Wayne Township.

He was a graduate of California State University, Northridge. He enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserves in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1966. He attended the Upland Bible Church, Las Vegas, for the last 27 years.

Don had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying as a hobby while his health permitted. He enjoyed war movies, especially those of World War II. His favorite classic movies include Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments and The Adventures of Robin Hood. He was also a fan of 1970s music.

Interment was in Palm Downtown Mortuary and Cemetery, Las Vegas.
