Bette Reif Braucht
Bette Reif Braucht, 87, of Spring Mills, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6. She was born in McAlevys Fort on July 27, 1928, a daughter of the late John C. and Clara (Lightner) Dickson.
She was a member of the last graduating class of Stone Valley High School. Bette and her second husband, “Bug,” owned and operated Zettles Antiques for many years in Spring Mills. What Bette enjoyed most was the time she spent with her family.
Bette was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Reif, second husband, Charles “Bug” Braucht, brothers, Donald and William Dickson, brother-in-law, Grover Corl, and son-in-law, Brian Fleck, who died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.
Survivors include: her daughter, Pamela Smith and husband, Dean, of Spring Mills; son, J. Dennis Reif and wife, Deb, of McAlevys Fort; daughter, Trudi Fleck, of Spring Mills; seven grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Wilson and husband, Clyde, of Belleville, and Lois Corl, of McAlevys Fort; brother, Herbert Dickson, of Sarasota, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Dickson, of McAlevys Fort, and Bertha Dickson, of Louisville, Ky.
A memorial service has been scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 in the United Presbyterian Church, McAlevys Fort, 13543 Greenwood Rd., Huntingdon, with Pastor Dan Morris officiating.
