VA medical center receives funding for infrastructure improvements
ALTOONA — The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center has received additional federal funding to continue infrastructure improvements as part of the Department of Veterans Affairs' Non-Recurring Maintenance program. The funding was awarded during the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 after the Altoona-based medical center received an earlier round of funding this year. Nationwide, the VA is investing a record $4.8 billion through the program to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities. At the James E.
