THOMPSONTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of a fatal house fire that occurred early Tuesday morning in Juniata County.

According to state police, a 35-year-old man died in the fire, which was reported around 4 a.m. along Oakhurst Lane in Thompsontown Borough. Authorities have not publicly identified the victim.

The Thompsontown Volunteer Fire Company said crews arrived to find a working fire at the residence. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was called to assist at the scene.

Police said Wednesday that the investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
