Juniata County Christian Education Released Time program enrollment

JUNIATA COUNTY — The Juniata County Christian Education Released Time Program began in early October and will hold weekly classes until the end of April 2026. Enrollment is open all year long for 1st grade to middle school students in Juniata County. Recital at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

LEWISTOWN — St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown, is hosting a recital by Kaley Yeager April 12 at 2 p.m. Yeager will present arias of the most respected composers of all time. A graduate of Penn State’s School of Music, Yeager is the soloist for St. Mark’s where she fills the church with her beautiful soprano voice every Sunday. On any Sunday, you will hear “The Lord’s Prayer” which leaves one feeling inspired to follow God. She will be accompanied by Jonah Glunt on the piano, a member of Penn State’s School of Engineering.

Composers featured during this recital are the lyrical and wandering melodies of Debussy, the emotion of Mozart, the poetry and harmony of Strauss, the drama of Menotti, Verdi’s beautiful “Ave Maria” and “Deep River,” a spiritual by H.T. Burleigh.

This will be a wonderful time to hear beautiful, perfectly performed music in one of the most picturesque sanctuaries in the valley. Refreshments will be served after the recital in the parish hall. There will be a free will offering for the shelter.

HHHO food giveaway in Beavertown

GriefShare at Allensville Mennonite Church

BELLEVILLE — GriefShare at Allensville Mennonite Church, 1156 Rte. 655, Belleville, runs Sundays through May 17 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you will discover what to expect in the days ahead and what is “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you will learn helpful ways of coping and gain solid support each step of the way.
