Remember Roger! Run for a good cause this weekend

Runners take off at the starting line for a recent Roger Snyder Memorial Race.

RICHFIELD – Whether you’re a serious runner or just keeping pace for a fun or first time, the Roger Snyder Memorial Race wants to meet you at the starting line on Saturday at Basom Park in Richfield.

Race officials believe this is the perfect event for the first time runner, as well as offering challenging course offerings for the experienced racer looking to set a personal record.

This year, they are offering a 5-kilometer walk and run,10k run, half marathon and kids run. The course runs through the beautiful Richfield countryside and is great for families and team runners, too. Basom Park is located at 6972 Heister Valley Road.

There is a fun kids’ run before the adult race, which helps set the theme of “Leaving Footprints for Our Future.” The half marathon will begin at 8 a.m., kids run at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K and 10K at 9 a.m. Join them for an event that will support the Roger Snyder Memorial Scholarship Fund for In the beginning preschool.
