LEWISTOWN — An off-duty Lewistown Police Department officer observed Shawn Eckley, 39, of unknown address, at the West End Service Store, located at 437 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, at 7:15 p.m. on March 6 and was aware that Eckley had a bench warrant for a theft arrest from Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. The officer called on-duty officers who located Eckley inside the store and arrested him, the report said, and he was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Lewistown woman arrested for

simple assault-domestic violence

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the first block of Montgomery Avenue in Lewistown at 10:49 p.m. on March 6 and located a female with a bloody upper lip and possible tooth damage, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers spoke with Melissa A. Counts, 41, of Lewistown, who related that her paramour tried to remove a bottle of alcohol from her hand, so Counts punched her paramour in the face causing the injuries observed by officers, the report said. Counts was arrested without incident for simple assault-domestic violence related, and lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said.

Lewistown woman, McVeytown man arrested on drug-related charges

LEWISTOWN — Destiny Brown, 23, of Lewistown, and Chase Michael Green, 36, of McVeytown, were arrested and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on drug-related charges at 1:34 p.m. on March 10, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy, East Market Street, Lewistown, for a report of a female who appeared to be impaired, the report said, and the female left on South Brown Street prior to officers arriving on scene. Officers located the female and identified her as Brown, the report said, and she was observed by officers staggering on the sidewalk and nearly falling over multiple times. Officers placed her under arrest for public drunkenness, and a search revealed Brown was in possession of a digital scale that contained cocaine residue, drug pipes and crack cocaine, the report said. Brown yelled that the bag she was carrying belonged to Green, who police said was acting suspicious as he refused to identify himself and attempted to leave the scene. Officers eventually located a container of drugs in Green’s possession, the report said, and he began resisting when officers attempted to handcuff him. throughout the altercation. Officers also located a pill bottle containing crack cocaine in his pocket as well as a large quantity of cocaine concealed in his sock, the report said. Brown was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Lewistown man arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct outside police station

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers heard a disturbance in front of the police station, 70 Chestnut St., Lewistown, at 9:20 p.m. on March 10, according to a release issued on Friday. A vehicle was observed driving next to a juvenile female as Chase W. Mitchell, 24, of Lewistown, and the female were screaming at each other in a domestic dispute as Mitchell drove beside the female who was walking on the sidewalk, the report said. Officers told the two to stop yelling and told Mitchell that he had an expired inspection sticker among other vehicle code violations, the report said, and

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a boarding house on the 100 block of West Third Street in Lewistown for a disturbance at 6:08 a.m. on March 11, according to a release issued on Friday. Justin L. Baker-Tallon, 27, of address unknown, had reportedly been wandering the common areas inside the building creating a disturbance, the report said, and officers had encountered Baker-Tallon at a nearby convenience store where he was harassing customers and threatening to fight them. Baker-Tallon was offered a ride somewhere to stay; however, he was unable to communicate where he wanted to go due to his level of impairment, the report said. Officers took Baker-Tallon into custody without incident for public drunkenness and he was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said.

Area man arrested for felony criminal trespass warrant

LEWISTOWN — Christopher Gahagan Sr., 57, of address unknown, was observed walking on McClintock Avenue in Lewistown by Lewistown Police Department officers at 3:28 p.m. on March 12, according to a release issued on Friday. Gahagan was taken into custody and lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, pending arraignment on his charges, the report said.

Police seeking help with someone siphoning gas from vehicles

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers are seeking help from anyone with surveillance video from the 200 block of Lombardy Circle in Lewistown where someone siphoned gasoline from vehicles parked in the area around 11 p.m. on March 12, according to a release issued on Friday. The case is being investigated by officers however this post is being made as a notice to the public, especially given the rising costs of gasoline.
