Lewistown man charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property

LEWISTOWN — A 28-year-old Lewistown man has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after removing a tool box that was mounted on a trailer on the 100 block of Logan Street in Lewistown at 5:56 p.m. on Feb. 20, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers responded to Logan Street after a resident reported that someone removed the tool box from their trailer, the report said, and the tools contained in the tool box were valued at several hundreds of dollars. Around 8:14 p.m., officers were summoned to a residence on the first block of Logan Street after the victim in this incident located their tool box at this residence, the report said, and upon speaking with two subjects, they reported that Alexander S. Platzer had dragged the tool box to their residence and sold the tool box and tools to them for approximately $200. On Feb. 21, Platzer came to the police station for an unrelated incident, the report said, and officers questioned him about the tool box and he admitted to stealing it off the victim’s trailer.

Lewistown cited for public drunkenness at convenience store

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to Sheetz, located at 113 N. Juniata St. in Lewistown, for a report of an intoxicated male who employees refused to sell alcohol to who went into the parking lot and was leaning on another customer’s vehicle at 12:14 a.m. on Feb. 21, according to a release issued on Friday. The subject departed in the passenger seat of a vehicle prior to officers responding then returned and was harassing customers soliciting them for money to purchase alcohol, the report said, and officers located the subject, Larry J. Anderson 45, of Lewistown, walking on West Third Street. Anderson, highly intoxicated from consuming alcohol, was transported to an associate’s residence where he was released into another’s care, the report said.

Mifflin man charged with simple assault, harassment at jail

LEWISTOWN — At 11:52 p.m. on Feb. 21, Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown to investigate an assault of an inmate by another inmate, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers reviewed video surveillance and spoke to inmates involved, the report said, and an inmate was lying on a bed when he was slapped multiple times by another inmate and later had water thrown on him by the same inmate. The victim later was in a verbal altercation with three inmates when an inmate who was not involved in the first dispute, identified as Jarvin Lopez, 39, of Mifflin, punched the victim in the face causing a bloody nose, the report said, and the altercation reportedly was over the victim inmate wanting to sleep and the others making too much noise. As a result, Lopez is being charged with simple assault and harassment, the report said, and the victim declined to prosecute the inmate involved in the first altercation.

Lewistown woman charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, other charges pending

LEWISTOWN — Bryawna N. Wagner, 20, of Lewistown was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:14 a.m. on Feb. 23 after Lewistown Police Department officers received a theft report from the 200 block of West Third Street in Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. A resident reported visiting a friend at this location, the report said, and the friend’s daughter, Wagner, was in the apartment at the same time. The resident’s wallet was sitting on a couch, the report said, and when the resident returned home, she realized she forgot her wallet. The resident returned to the apartment where Wagner was and the wallet could not be located, the report said, and the subject’s present accused Wagner of stealing the wallet. Officers questioned Wagner who volunteered to allow officers to search her backpack, the report said, and while doing so, officers located containers of white powder and spoons containing drug residue. Wagner told officers that the powder was cocaine, the report said, and officers determined that Wagner had a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said, and the theft report is still under further investigation.

Lewistown man jailed

endangering welfare of child

LEWISTOWN — The Lewistown Police Department received a Child Line report regarding a 13-day-old infant that was admitted into intensive care at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Feb. 19, according to a release issued on Friday. The infant was in imminent danger of death due to a brain bleed with no skull fractures detected along with bruising to the neck and jaw from a suspected “Shaking Baby Syndrome” assault, the report said, and a detective from LPD conducted an investigation which included interviews of the mother, and father, who was identified as Scott Andrew Al McNemar, 20, of Lewistown. McNemar related that the baby began crying and would not stop, the report said, and McNemar gave an account to aggressively handling the child without supporting the newborn’s head or neck. McNemar admitted that he accidentally injured the baby and that he knew the baby was injured after handling him in this manner, the report said, and the family reported that McNemar came downstairs with the baby which was unresponsive and very cool to the touch. Medical staff reported that the baby sustained a substantial brain injury, had multiple seizures, can’t regulate its body temperature and was not able to feed, the report said, and a doctor also rendered an opinion that, based upon the injuries to the baby’s neck and jaw, that this was likely not the first time the baby had been assaulted. The doctor also reported that, based upon the baby’s low body temperature, no one sought immediate medical attention and that there was a delay in seeking treatment, the report said, and McNemar met detectives at LPD on Feb. 27 where a few point of clarification were made. McNemar was taken into custody without incident and charged with aggravated assault, endangering welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, the report said, and McNemar was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown. Bail was denied by Magisterial District Judge Craig Weston, the report said.

Richfield man charged with violating PFA

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers received a complaint of a protection from abuse violation at 7:43 p.m. on Feb. 23, according to a release issued on Friday. A resident has a protection of abuse order issued by the Mifflin County Court of Common Please on Nov. 13, 2025, the report said, and the order prohibited Jevin C. Trayer, 22, of Richfield, from contacting the resident. The resident reported that immediately after the PFA was enacted, Trayer blocked the resident on social media, the report said, and on Feb. 23, 2026 at 5:11 p.m., Trayer forwarded a racing video from Facebook to the resident along with the letter “k”. The video did not have anything to do with the victim, the report said, and officers initially declined to prosecute the case. The report said charges were filed for the PFA violation after the case was reviewed by the district attorney’s office.

Lancaster man charged with possession of marijuana, juvenile cited for curfew violation

LEWISTOWN — At 4:42 a.m. on Feb. 26, Lewistown Police Department officers were patrolling the 100 block of West Fourth Street in Lewistown when they observed a male chasing another male at a full sprint, according to a release issued on Friday. An officer had contact with the two males, the report said, and one of the males, a 17-year-old juvenile, walked a short distance away and threw something down. The second male, Jakai Jenkins-Williams, 22, of Lancaster, said the juvenile stole his bag and ran away, the report said, and this bag was identified as the object the juvenile threw down. Jenkins reported receiving oral sex from the juvenile who then stole the bag and took off running, the report said, and Jenkins reported they were just hanging out in a vehicle together when this happened. Jenkins reported not knowing what was in the bag, the report said, and the juvenile denied giving oral sex and also denied stealing the bag. Officers searched the bag which was abandoned behind a vehicle nearby, the report said, and the bag contained marijuana and rolling papers used to smoke marijuana. Jenkins admitted that this bag belonged to him, the report said, and Jenkins is being charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and the juvenile was cited for a curfew violation.
