Man arrested for warrant upon hospital discharge

LEWISTOWN — A 38-year-old Lewistown man was arrested for a warrant after being discharged from Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital at 11:54 a.m. on March 20, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Matthew W. Baumgardner was involved in a previously reported domestic dispute and was admitted to the hospital, the report said, and Baumgardner was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Six arrests made during mass wanted service

LEWISTOWN — Five Lewistown residents and one from Burnham were arrested at 9:30 a.m. on March 23 when a large number of law enforcement entities met at the Lewistown Police Department for a pre-planned mass warrant service, according to a release issued on Thursday. Participating agencies included the Lewistown Police Department, Mifflin County Drug Task Force, Mifflin County Regional Police, Pennsylvania State Police (uniformed troopers and narcotics investigators from Troop G) and the FBI (State College field office). Uniformed and non-uniformed personnel were divided into teams to serve warrants mostly associated with drug deliveries that have occurred in Mifflin County. The following individuals were arrested as a result of this sweep:

Kayla N. Miller, 20, of Lewistown – Warrants for delivery of controlled substances and criminal use of a communication device;

Jennifer A. Howell, 49, of Lewistown – Warrant for delivery of controlled substances and criminal use of a communication device;

Jessica L. Ray, 33, of Lewistown – Warrant for delivery of controlled substances and criminal use of a communication device;

Matahia Clark, 28, of Lewistown – Warrant for delivery of controlled substances and criminal use of a communication device;

Roman Simmons, 41, of Burnham – Warrant for F3 drug DUI charges;

Precious Conigliaro, 27, of Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown – Warrant for delivery of controlled substances and criminal use of a communication device. This warrant was served at the facility where Conigliaro was already lodged.

Officers have felony drug delivery arrest warrants for Shannon M. Price, 42, of Lewistown, and Shaun A. Decando, 41, of Lewistown. Officers had contact with Decando by phone; however, he has failed to surrender himself to the police.

Area men arrested for warrants, DUI

LEWISTOWN — Erik Lawrence, 61, of Sadsburyville, and Jason W. Brown, 31, of address unknown, have been charged with multiple offenses after the vehicle they were traveling in on the 1200 block of West Fourth Street in Lewistown alerted Lewistown Police Department officers that it was expired and the plate displayed belonged to a different vehicle at 10:10 p.m. on March 25, according to a release issued on Thursday. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle stopped on the 800 block of West Fourth Street. The driver was identified as Lawrence, who had a DUI suspended license, the report said, and the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. The passenger provided a false name before identifying himself as Jayden Brown and he told officers he had a warrant. Brown had two active warrants from the Mifflin County Prothonotary office, the report said, and he was taken into custody and officers discovered a digital scale in his possession that had a white drug residue which later tested positive for cocaine. Brown had drug packaging material in his possession as well. Officers towed the vehicle and applied for a search warrant of the vehicle where they later found a bag of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, two narcotic pills and marijuana under the driver’s seat. Officers located a glass meth pipe under the passenger seat, the report said, and Brown was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on his warrants and he is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawrence is being charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offenses including his sixth offense for driving with a DUI suspended license, the report said.
