Learn the basics of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia

UNIVERSITY PARK — In the United States, more than 6 million individuals are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and there are about 11 million unpaid caregivers supporting them. Around the world, the disease impacts an estimated 50 million people.

To provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Penn State Extension joined forces with the Alzheimer’s Association to offer the “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” webinar.

The following webinars are scheduled:

• March 9, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.

• March 16, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.

• May 5, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m.

• Aug. 18, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The program is designed for people who are facing an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis, for caregivers looking after someone with these conditions, and for anyone who wants to learn more about Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

The webinar is free, but attendees must preregister to get the access link. Those who register also will receive a link to watch the recording of the program.
