Towpath Society unveils spring lineup of programs

Fireflies will be the topic of the Towpath Naturalist meeting in May.
LEWISTOWN — The Towpath Naturalist Society of Mifflin and Juniata County has announced its spring lineup of programs, which start in March.
The programs include:
• On Wednesday, March 11, Amy Nabozny, of the Pennsylvania Game Commission will speak about Pennsylvania bobcats during her “Prowler of the Pines” presentation.
• On Tuesday, April 14, Kylie Ornsdorf, environmental education specialist at Reeds Gap State Park in Milroy, visits and entertains with a fun bird-call program, “Birdsong Bingo.”
• On Tuesday, May 12, Jen Moore, environmental education specialist at Greenwood Furnace State Park in Huntingdon, presents “Summer Nights with Firefly Lights.”
The March program is being held on Wednesday due to a conflict. Normally, meetings are held on the second Tuesday of March, April, May, September, October and November at 7 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown. Use the rear entrance.
Annual dues are $10, payable in November. New members and visitors are always welcome.
