MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata County Business and Professional Women organization recently completed its annual “Boxes of Love” collection, gathering personal care and toiletry items for women and children served by The Abuse Network.
According to the organization, the donated items are intended to provide basic necessities for individuals experiencing crisis situations in the community.
In addition to the Boxes of Love campaign, members collected paper towels for the Juniata County Food Pantry. The effort supports the BPW/PA state project, Hunger Free PA, which focuses on assisting families facing food insecurity across the commonwealth. Paper products are among the items most frequently requested by local food pantries.
“Our members are committed to lifting up women and families in Juniata County,” the organization said in a statement. “These donations reflect our mission of service, compassion and community support.”
The group will meet again at 6:30 p.m. March 17 at the Walker Grange in Mifflintown. Those interested in attending are asked to contact Tiffanie Burger at (717) 436-6696 by March 12. Guests may attend without becoming members.
