Lewistown woman faces drug charges
LEWISTOWN — Samantha S. Weld, 36, of Lewistown, was charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia at 3:21 p.m. on Jan. 12 after Mifflin County Probation and Lewistown Police Department officers found controlled substances inside her residence, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers responded to the 600 block of Valley Street in Lewistown to assist Mifflin County Probation, who were conducting a search after Weld provided a urine sample that was positive for the presence of controlled substances. The report said probation conducted an administrative search of Weld’s residence and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside.
Police investigating alleged theft of money taken from wallet
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers received a complaint that a subject requested an associate drive them to the Puff-N-Stuff on West Fourth Street in Lewistown at 7:31 p.m. on Jan. 15 as the complainant has difficulty with their vision, according to a release issued on Friday. The complainant grabbed cash from their purse and went inside while the driver remained in the parking lot with the purse, the report said, and when the complainant returned home, they noticed that cash that was in the wallet when they were at the store was stolen. The amount was in excess of $100, the report said, and this case is pending review of surveillance images from the store covering the parking lot.
