Police investigate hit-and-run near

Mifflin County Correctional Facility

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers are investigating an alleged hit-and-run to the rear the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown at 11:11 p.m. on Nov. 22, according to a release on Friday. A subject reported their vehicle was scratched while parked in this area. Officers are waiting for video from the courthouse in order to determine what occurred. Lewistown husband, wife cited

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to an apartment complex on the first block of West Market Street in Lewistown for a domestic dispute at 7:26 a.m. on Nov. 24, according to a release issued on Friday. Both parties involved were insistent that the other party be cited as a result of the altercation between husband and wife, James Bartlett, 50, of Lewistown, and Amanda Bartlett, 49, of Lewistown. James admitted he slapped Amanda, who was trying to hide his phone in a mattress, because he was splashed with coffee and was shoved repeatedly while trying to find his phone, the report said, and both parties were cited for summary harassment.

Middle school student charged with

disorderly conduct for threat

LEWISTOWN — An unidentified Mifflin County Middle School student is being charged with disorderly conduct after admitting to writing a threat on the wall in a boys restroom at 11:18 a.m. on Nov. 24, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. The LPD school resource officer assisted school staff investigate the incident, which consisted on reviewing surveillance footage and conducting at least one interview, the report said. The student indicated they had no intentions on harming students or staff with the message they wrote on the wall with a marker, the report said, and the school took disciplinary actions against the student.

Police investigating cell phone theft from vehicle on Logan Street

LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown resident that their pink iPhone 15 cell phone was stolen from inside a vehicle, which was parked behind 13 Logan St. in Lewistown on Nov. 19, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. The alleged theft occurred sometime during the overnight hours, the report said, and the phone was left visible on the front passenger seat.

Lewistown man cited for harassment at convenience store

LEWISTOWN — A 76-year-old Lewistown man was cited by Lewistown Police Department officers for harassment after he was observed shoving an elderly female who was standing next to him in a convenience store, according to a release issued on Friday. At 3:26 p.m. on Nov. 24, officers responded to the Puff-N-Snuff, located at 910 W. Fourth St. in Lewistown, for a report of an assault that occurred the day prior wherein the assaulter was back at the store, the report said, and officers spoke with an employee and reviewed video from Nov. 23. John Cloyde Smith was playing skills games at the business when he shoved a female, who fell down and struck her head on the leg of a nearby chair, the report said, and Smith then stood over the female in a menacing posture. Officers spoke to Smith, who related the female was his wife and he pushed her because she was upset about Smith gambling, the report said, and he was trespassed from the business. Officers followed up with the female victim who reported having a bump on her head which did not require medical treatment, the report said.

Lewistown man charged with

possessing paraphernalia, trespassing

LEWISTOWN — Chance Goshorn, 24, of Lewistown, was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and trespassing following an incident at Sheetz, 113 N. Juniata St., Lewistown, at 1:03 a.m. on Nov. 25, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers were dispatched to the convenience store for a report of suspects present who stole items earlier in the day, the report said, and officers spoke with Goshorn, who had been trespassed from the store previously. Goshorn was taken into custody and searched incident to arrest, the report said. Goshorn was found to possess a methamphetamine pipe and a digital scale containing methamphetamine residue, the report said, and Goshorn was released at his residence and charges were later filed.
