School directors sought in Mifflin, Juniata counties

MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata County School District Board of Directors is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board, representing Region 5, Fermanagh Township.

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest to Board Secretary Polly Digon at 146 Weatherby Way, Mifflintown, PA 17059 or pdigon@jcsdk12.org no later than Dec. 19.

Interviews for the position will be held during a board workshop meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the district’s administrative office, 146 Weatherby Way, Mifflintown. Appointment to the position will take place during the Thursday, Jan. 15 board meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. at the administrative office building.

The individual appointed to fill the vacancy will serve the remainder of the term, which will expire in December 2027.

The Mifflin County School District is also seeking applicants for appointment to the Board of School Directors, effective Dec. 18, with a term of office concluding on Dec. 6, 2027.

Applicants must be a qualified elector of the school district and a resident of the Mifflin County School District for a minimum of one year prior to appointment. Applicants should complete the Board of School Director application, found on the home page of the school district’s website at www.mcsdk12.org, and submit it to the school district by 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16.
