Supervisor appointed to fill seat

REEDSVILLE — The Brown Township Board of Supervisors Monday appointed Steve Glick to fill the vacant board seat following the resignation of Mike Baker.

Glick, a Republican, was the only candidate on the ballot for the six-year Brown Township Supervisor seat in the 2025 General Election.

“He won the election, he is a man of integrity, and I think he will do good for the next few months and then fill his position for the next six years,” said Pete Picciurro, board vice chairman.

In other business, the board:

• Approved the Mifflin County Regional Police Department 2026 budget for Brown Township for $371,880.56;

• Passed a resolution setting the supervisor’s compensation for Glick at $3,145;

• Tabled finding an auditing firm for the township and fire company, contingent on receiving estimates from different firms;

• Approved providing Christmas gift certificates to township employees;

• Set the date for the Brown Township office Christmas Party for Dec. 24;

• Approved the closure of the township office on Dec. 26.
