Thompsontown man reports robbery

THOMPSONTOWN — On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Eugene Rayfield, 53 of Thompsontown reported that several items were stolen from his home on McCoysville Road, Tuscarora Township between Monday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Oct. 21. State Police observed that someone had damaged the front door and a lock on a safe taking a high school diploma and a silver ring with an eagle engraved. The investigation will continue.

McCLure man charged after vehicle accident

McCLURE — Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown responded to a one-vehicle crash on Saturday, Nov. 8 around 4 a.m. The report states that Dean Sherwood, 59, of McCLure, was traveling south in a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta on Snook Road, Decatur Township. Sherwood related to officers that due to the foggy road conditions he did not see a branch in the roadway. Sherwood’s vehicle swerved and went out of control, striking a tree off the roadway. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Sherwood was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
